Weekly Willy Update (WWU) for the week of October 3, 2008

So this past week was a pretty big week in the world of Halo, but I will get to that in a Halo related gaming news segment. Well it has been 1 year since the release of Halo 3. A few members of CE United partied up that night 1 year ago and played all the way through. Afterwards I spent the next few or more hours playing multiplayer and getting to know Halo 3 until I finally crashed…… I mean went to bed, at 4:30 PM in the afternoon.

Good times. Happy Birthday Halo 3, may we play you for many more years to come.

So now on with the good stuff.

Clan News, Info, and Events…

CE United will be holding its first Texas Hold’em gaming night soon.

YAY (!!!) for those non-CE United members who actually visit our site and read our WWU. We’d like to thank Second-Foundation for mentioning us again in their podcast and referencing some of our CE United clan news.

CE United and 8-Bit Brigade are still on for the LAN party Halloween weekend.

H4L0 Gaming News…

Like I said up at the top of the WWU this week was big in the world of Halo. The [SUPERINTENDENT] posted a few things over at Bungie.net and followed that with a mysterious countdown. The countdown lead to a “Teaser Trailer” that ended with the very cool quote, “Prepare to drop.” We know now that this was the announcement that was unceremoniously cancelled at E3.

Basically, when you download the video on Xbox LIVE it says “High action and deep mystery await players in the new Halo 3 campaign experience”. Most likely it is a Campaign expansion. People say they spotted a January 6, 2009 in the video as well. My fingers are crossed to play as a Hell jumper and with that “Prepare to drop” slogan, it sounds pretty promising.

Besides that, there was the sad news of the canceled Halo MMO that was in the works. I believe it would have been a lot of fun to play an RPG set in the Halo world. But now we can’t, sorry.

Regular Gaming News…

No more Halo news this week, back to your regularly scheduled gaming news.
Sadly for all of our Fable fans out there, the studio that produces the game announced that it will not ship with online Co-op, but will be release that feature through a patch later, once again sorry for the bad news.

Also Nintendo held a press conference and they are releasing a new DS called the DSi, November 1st in Japan. We have to wait till 2009 to get our hands on it, oh btw they are taking out the GBA slot but adding a lot more features like a SD slot.

Willy’s Rant of the Week (WRotW)

This weeks “WRotW” is not so much about gaming as it about politics. I know that it is taboo to talk about politics, so… that is why I am ranting about it. So here it is:
I HATE ELECTION SEASON !!!! and the final month leading up to ELECTION DAY. I JUST WANT THIS ELECTION TO BE OVER AND DONE WITH SO WE CAN STOP HEARING ABOUT POLITICS !!!! ENOUGH WITH THE POLITICS ALREADY !!!!!!!

It has been a little over a year since Travis, the 14-year-old, 200-pound pet of Sandra Herold, 71, mauled a family friend in Ms. Herold’s driveway. Officer Chiafari and another officer were the first to respond to Ms. Herold’s 911 call, and after the chimpanzee attacked his vehicle and opened the driver-side door in the driveway, Officer Chiafari fatally shot Travis.
